Responsibilities

 

Task Ownership and Technical Development:  

  • Take full ownership of assigned tasks, managing them from concept to delivery with minimal supervision.  

  • Execute test plans and contribute to creating new robust test plans, leveraging existing test plans wherever possible. 

  • Possess a thorough understanding of feature implementation strategy to document methods for testing. 

  • Comprehend, document, and create any additional tests necessary to ensure all areas impacted by refactoring, bug fixing, or rework will not introduce additional defects in other areas of the game. 

  • Identify and leverage any new bugs from games to ensure all other applicable test plans capture the risk/item, such that the consistencies and inconsistencies between various games are well understood and applicable tests are verified. 

  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.  

  • Advocate for the player experience, ensuring slot math, gameplay mechanics, and UI/UX function as intended and ensure high-quality standards.  

  • Lead root cause analysis, partnering with developers to triage issues and improve debugging processes for faster resolution across multiple game releases

 

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Teamwork:

  • Work closely with game designers, artists, audio designers, mathematicians, and QA test engineers to bring creative concepts to completion.  

  • Plan and strategize task breakdowns and user story flows with the game team to ensure alignment and success.  

  • Actively contribute ideas to improve team workflows, development processes, and game quality.  

  • Ensure clear and effective communication with all team members to address challenges and implement solutions.  

 

Optimization and Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, optimize systems, and streamline workflows.  

  • Optimize game performance for mobile platforms, ensuring fast loading times and smooth gameplay.  

  • Thoroughly test code changes to maintain reliability and contribute to overall team success.  

  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and techniques to bring fresh insights to the team.

  

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 2 or 4 year degree in a technology related field of study. 

  • 0-2 years of experience in slot game testing or gaming related quality assurance test environments. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Azure DevOps workflows. 

  • Excellent writing skills. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines while managing competing priorities.  

  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and critical thinking skills. 

  • Experience with bug tracking software tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, Mantis, FogBugz, or equivalent a plus. 

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies plus.
